Join me for a new advanced dance workshop classes this Autumn.
The Advance Your Dance workshops are aimed at improver to advanced bellydancers, who would like to develop their technique across various styles, as well as overall performance skills and dance flow.
Each session will be taught as a stand alone 2 hour workshop consisting of a core strengthening warm up, dance stretches, isolations and technique drills, which will all be combined into a mini choreography or combination at the end. There will also be individual feedback, group exercises and a cool down. See the full schedule below.
We dance in the lovely bright and mirrored first floor studio at the River Bourne Health Club in Chertey (Heriot Road, KT13 9DR) from 11:30am-1:30pm. How to find us

13 October: Breathing life into your dancing – how to create dynamics through breathing, movement and stillness.
We’ll explore how important correct breathing is during dancing and not least performing, to improve dance quality but also to bring new dynamics into your performance. We will also look at how control and stillness can help bring more life and interest to your dancing, whilst giving you essential time to enjoy the moment and prepare for the next steps.
Please bring a silk dance veil. There will also be some to borrow in class.
3 November : Baladi building blocks
Explore how to create your own baladi with confidence and explore arm postions and patters, hip combinations and Egyptian styling, which you can use to suit your own interpretation. We’ll work on traditional as well as unexpected combos, and of course those all important powerful hips and accents! Add a pinch of Cairo flourish and you’ll be well on your way to build your own beautiful and strong Baladi.
