During a workshop I taught last year a student asked me how to add elegant walking steps to a dance routine. It was one of those elements of the choreography that I had never thought about breaking down, but once I did, I noticed a big difference in my student’s dancing.
Today’s video is therefore all about how to walk, whether you want it to be elegantly, strongly or even sexy. I break down the move and explain how to use imagery and visualisation to help you convey the feeling you want and at the end I also mention how to add variations. So even if you’ve nailed your ‘dance walking’ I hope there are elements for you to take away, whether for your own dancing or that of your students.
You can view the video here.
It’s part of my free dance technique series, which is also added to the JWAAD Belly Dance Training YouTube channel.
If you find this useful, please leave me a comment below, and feel free to also share your own tips, experiences or stories that you think might help fellow dancers add some beautiful walking steps to their dance routines.
Happy dancing 🙂
